The purpose of this position is to be a part of the Asset Team to support the rental staff and rental  representatives with daily requests and to be a resource for their specific equipment requirements.  It is essential to become an expert on the product, so you are capable of providing the expertise needed to assist in the rental representatives and their needs. Primary focus of this role will be our Industrial Products. 

 

  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of a machine sale, from machine and attachment/work tool ordering to shipment and invoicing the customer.
  • Responsible for placing all orders whether stock inventory, rental inventory, used inventory, and ancillary supporting items and attachments.
  • Responsible for locating and/or transferring machinery to and from other Cat dealers to fulfill a sale.
  • Develop good working relationships with Caterpillar dealers, Caterpillar personnel, and outside suppliers
  • Effectively communicate shipping instructions/information to the Central Transportation Manager or designated freight hauler.
  • Manage the rental inventory, New Inventory, and Used Inventory for your products at all rental locations
  • Work with all Asset Team members to produce optimal fleet performance.  This includes time and financial utilization metrics, sales profitability, and rental rates
  • Initiate requests to the Service Department for PDI’s, along with additional work needed per customer specifications.  Track SHOP down list to ensure optimal up-time.
  • Keep rental representatives and rental management team aware of product problems, delivery issues, new models and specs, etc.
  • Must be able to enter in received equipment, relieving sold, rented, and demo/loaned machines out of the system.
  • Inventory and DBSi system reconciliation
  • Facilitates all new and used sales.
  • Provide backup support for all asset team members to ensure successful execution of job functions during an absence.
  • Keep sales representatives and stores informed as to the status of sold machines.
  • Provide all necessary reporting on a timely basis.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or two years’ work-related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of office procedures and work skills are necessary.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer literate and proficient with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook required.
  • Must be customer focused and have strong communication skills.
  • Able to lift 40lbs.
  • Must be well organized and able to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills are needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on the final candidate).

     

This position works primarily in an office environment but also spends a portion outdoors for annual inspections being exposed to elements of weather, dust, and dirt. May, continuously, sit at a desk for a long period; answer telephone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. May continuously walk, bend, and lift up to 40lbs. May be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields and steel-toed shoes) when needed. The noise level in the office environment is usually moderate to low. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
