Field Engineer in Training - Mechanical

• →Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BWG safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
• →Under the guidance of other experienced engineers, lead the detailed design (design basis, specifications, drawings) of future capital projects for site wide infrastructure, mechanical, and process systems.
• →Conduct feasibility studies, trade-offs, cost estimates, and risk assessment assessments to evaluate project viability and develop project execution plans.
• →Assist with the production of engineering and construction work packages.

• →Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure timely and cost effective project delivery.
• →Provide technical oversight and field engineering support during construction, installation, and commissioning activities for capital projects.
• →Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications, quality, and safety standards.
• →Under the direct supervision of other professional engineers, ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, regulations, and professional practice guidelines.
• →Provide input to project and construction managers on all aspects of project controls including earned value, costs, and schedule updates.

• →May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university program.
• 2+ years of experience in engineering with a focus on capital projects in the mining industry. Experience in mine site development, mechanical infrastructure or processing plant design and commissioning is preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Solidworks or equivalent.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and standards applicable in mining projects, including regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
