Litigation Attorney

The Wilmington, Delaware office of Kaufman Dolowich LLP, recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Best Companies to Work For – Law Firms,” is continuing its strategic growth and seeking a motivated Business Litigation Associate to join our expanding Delaware team.

Our Delaware office handles a broad range of sophisticated business and civil litigation matters, including:

• Directors & Officers (D&O) liability
• Insurance coverage litigation
• Employment law disputes
• Professional malpractice defense
• Civil rights litigation
• Real estate disputes
• Commercial and contract litigation
• Complex business disputes

This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys variety, wants significant courtroom and litigation exposure, and is eager to work on challenging, high-value matters across multiple practice areas.

• →Assist with all phases of complex civil litigation from inception through resolution
• →Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses
• →Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written advocacy
• →Manage and coordinate discovery, including e-discovery
• →Participate in depositions, court appearances, mediations, and hearings
• →Work collaboratively with partners and clients on litigation strategy
• →Handle sensitive and high-exposure matters with professionalism and attention to detail

• J.D. degree with strong academic credentials
• Minimum of 3 years of primarily defense civil litigation experience
• Admission to the Delaware Bar required
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience handling discovery and e-discovery processes
• Comfortable with courtroom appearances and witness depositions
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering excellent client service
• Writing sample required
• Law school transcripts required for candidates who graduated within the last five years

• Admission to the Maryland and/or Washington D.C. Bar is a plus
• Willingness to seek admission in additional jurisdictions preferred
• MBA or business-related degree is a plus
• Commercial bankruptcy experience is a plus
• Prior experience with billable time management or willingness to develop those skills
