Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country is growing, and we’re looking to add a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to our ER family. Full-time and part-time positions are available, with a primarily daytime schedule that keeps your evenings free.

  • Daytime hours in the ER. Typical shifts run 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., rare in emergency medicine.
  • Full-time or part-time. Choose the schedule that fits your life, with full benefits available to full-time team members.
  • Room to learn. Experience is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

  • Hands-on emergency skills. As a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant here, you’ll be part of triage, IV catheter placement, radiographs, and hospitalized patient care.

Responsibilities

  • →Assist doctors and veterinary technicians with patient care
  • →Triage and admit emergency patients
  • →Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters
  • →Monitor hospitalized patients and record vitals
  • →Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • →Take diagnostic radiographs
  • →Enter charges and help keep patient flow moving
  • →Communicate with compassion and clarity to clients during stressful situations

Responsibilities may vary based on hospital needs as well as your experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned responsibilities.

  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant preferred, ideally in emergency or small animal practice
  • Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and radiographs preferred
  • A strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive attitude
  • Compassion for pets and their families, especially in urgent situations
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in emergency medicine
  • Ability to stay calm, focused, and team-minded in a fast-paced setting
  • Availability for a weekend rotation, which can be every other weekend
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift [Weight] lbs with assistance
  • Veterinary technician licensure is welcomed but not required
