Nursing Assistants are responsible for working closely with the nurse to provide excellent direct patient care. This person supports activities of daily living (ADL's) with patients and prevents complications.

• →Monitor and Report: Take vital signs as scheduled, and promptly report any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to the RN.
• →Assist with Personal Care: Support patients with personal hygiene, bowel/bladder care, and monitor intake/output and weights.
• →Patient Mobility and Positioning: Assist with ambulation and repositioning to prevent immobility-related complications.
• →Patient Education and Safety: Reinforce education on tools like incentive spirometers and help maintain a clean, safe bedside area.
• →Hourly Rounding and Flexibility: Round on each patient hourly to ensure needs are met and assist patients and teammates as needed.

• High school or equivalent experience

• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA)
• Previous patient care experience

• Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).
• Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs. (e.g., boxes, equipment, IV solutions), with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, as the position may require.
• Capacity to operate job-related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Location: Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850

• Shift: Three 12-hour shifts per week 6:45am - 7:15pm; every other weekend and holidays as assigned
• 0% Travel can be expected in this role

• Standard Rate of $16.00 - $24.00 per hour plus benefits
