For more than six decades, The Guidance Center has served as a cornerstone of mental health care in Cumberland County, NJ. As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to delivering high‑quality, compassionate services to individuals and families. Our multidisciplinary team-therapists, nurses, physicians, and support staff-works together to diagnose, treat, and support those living with mental illness.

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll be part of a highly collaborative PACT team, participating in daily meetings, case discussions, and treatment planning. You'll provide both individual and group counseling using evidence‑based practices, conduct emergency mental health assessments, and coordinate closely with medical staff regarding client medication needs.

You'll also play a key role in supporting families and natural support systems, helping them understand and engage in the treatment process. Ongoing assessment, coordination with community partners, and assisting with transportation needs will help clients move toward greater independence. You'll also participate in the team's on‑call rotation and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.

To succeed in this position, you'll need:

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, or another human services field

  • At least two years of post‑bachelor's experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness

  • Strong knowledge of community resources and support agencies
  • A valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean five‑year driving record
