CodeAI is an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to the vision that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) and computer science (CS) as part of their core K-12 education. We increase participation in AI+CS education by reaching students of all backgrounds where they are — at their skill level, in their schools, and in ways that inspire them to keep learning, with a focus on increasing participation by young women and students from other underrepresented groups. The leading provider of K-12 AI+CS education curriculum across the globe, CodeAI also organizes the annual Hour of AI campaign, building on the legacy of the Hour of Code, which has engaged more than 15% of all students in the world!

CodeAI's global role in the K-12 computer science movement is only possible because we use a unifying approach across diverse and often divided stakeholders. At a time of increasing polarization, the idea of increasing opportunity for students unites people from across the political spectrum. CodeAI's team members, students, teachers, and supporters have diverse and diverging view points, and they are all welcome in our mission. Read more

As Director of Global Strategy & Programs, you'll set the strategic direction for CodeAI's work expanding access to CS + AI learning experiences outside the U.S. You'll decide where and how Global can have the greatest impact, then build the programs, partnerships, and systems needed to get there.

You'll balance depth-market investment with breadth-market scale, translating big-picture strategy into operating models that actually work in classrooms while representing CodeAI's global work to ministries of education, partners, and media.

In this role, you will:

  • Define CodeAI's global strategy, setting the goals, KPIs, and market approaches that expand access to and adoption of CS + AI learning.
  • Own global performance, using data, market insight, and partner feedback to spot opportunities and improve impact.
  • Decide where Global can have the greatest impact, balancing deep engagement in priority markets against scalable approaches everywhere else.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy as a strategic leader, aligning priorities across the organization.
  • Build and scale global programs that help partners and ecosystems deliver CodeAI's learning experiences sustainably.
  • Design distinct strategies for breadth markets (in-market partners) and depth markets (direct investment in infrastructure and partnerships).
  • Design frameworks and partner models that bring curriculum, product, marketing, operations, and partnerships together into one coherent program.
  • Win leadership and cross-functional buy-in for global strategies, securing the resources needed to execute.
  • Adapt programs and operating models to local context while holding the line on CodeAI's mission and standards.
  • Lead and grow a small Global team — setting goals, coaching, and supporting career development.
  • Manage the Global team's budget and oversee vendors and contracted partners (teacher training, localization, market implementation).
  • Build systems for consistent execution, measurement, and reporting across the partner ecosystem.
  • Represent CodeAI's global work and partner ecosystem to government and ministry leaders, nonprofit and education partners, and media.
  • Turn complex global strategy and market dynamics into narratives that drive decisions across the organization.
  • Build cross-team understanding of how global insights and partnerships should inform CodeAI's broader strategy.
