Job Description: 

 

Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Asphalt Roller Operator in Columbia, SC. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively run a roller for the compaction of asphalt and/or dirt and other materials for road and commercial construction. Asphalt Roller Operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site.

Responsibilities

  • Must have a basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine.
  • Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
  • Must keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
  • Must have an understanding of control levers for movement of machine.
  • Must have a priority for safety and welfare of workers around the machine.
  • Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred), but not necessarily required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 months of work-related experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to work day or night shifts.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Provide own transportation to and from work.
  • Driving License (preferred).
  • Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.

Employee must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
