• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $109,102 to $120,542 + super

Heritage NSW is looking to create a talent pool for ongoing and/or temporary upcoming opportunities for the role of Policy Officer within the Policy and Strategy Branch. As Policy Officer, you would provide strategic policy and project support to help deliver the key initiatives of the NSW Heritage Strategy. Working for the Minister for Heritage, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) executive, and the Heritage Council of NSW to develop strategic advice, contribute to the roll-out of new policies and projects and drive legislative and regulatory change in NSW.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled and passionate policy team that is driving innovative changes as they deliver the first NSW Heritage Strategy.

Working with members of the Policy and Strategy Branch, you will deliver a range of strategic policy projects. Demonstrating initiative, you will undertake in-depth research and reviews to help identify innovative solutions to complex policy and project challenges. In this role, you will also coordinate working groups, committees and stakeholder consultations to strengthen and underpin policy and development. Success will rely on your strong communication and collaboration skills, your ability to deliver timely outcomes, and your energy and enthusiasm for achieving best-practice policy results.

• Understanding of the contemporary public policy issues with the capacity to develop understanding of government and public administration, legislative processes and protocols and the complexities of policy debates.

• Tertiary qualification or demonstrated experience in policy development, heritage, Aboriginal cultural heritage or relevant field.
