About the Role
~1 min readThe Office of Sport is seeking a Principal Project Officer with a passion for delivering complex projects and practical business improvements. The role will lead a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives, including systems and technology enhancements, process improvements, and organisational priorities that strengthen how we work and deliver outcomes for our communities.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate, you will oversee, coach and guide leaders and project teams to deliver outcomes across initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic objectives and business and community outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable and collaborative project leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, can balance competing priorities, and enjoys partnering with a broad range of stakeholders to drive meaningful outcomes.

Lead and deliver a portfolio of complex strategic projects, including transformation and business process improvement, system migrations and implementations, and operational initiatives that support organisational priorities.

Establish and oversee robust project governance, planning, risk management, reporting and evaluation frameworks to ensure successful project outcomes, benefits realisation and continuous improvement.

Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, providing expert advice and coaching, managing expectations and leading collaborative engagement to achieve project milestones and organisational objectives.
You are a highly experienced project professional with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional programs in large and diverse environments. You bring strong expertise in project delivery methodologies, organisational change, business transformation and stakeholder engagement, coupled with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at senior levels. You comfortably pivot between working with senior stakeholders, program management, sleeves up delivery and coaching of project leaders and teams.
