Responsibilities
The Senior IT Analyst is a multi-incumbent position that acts as a team leader within the Client Support team. This position is responsible for determining desktop hardware specifications and making recommendations for running applications designed by and/or purchased by the City of Dayton for individual departments. The incumbent will be included in the review and selection of software and determining hardware specifications necessary for implementation. The incumbent makes modifications to desktop systems as dictated by changing user needs and keeps the total system in sound operating condition by investigating the impact proposed changes will have on the system as a whole. Implement solutions that align with the organization's business objectives, including assisting in system scope and objectives, analyzing business and user requirements for complex projects, and managing requirements throughout each project. Senior IT Analysts must maintain a good relationship with customers and vendors while maintaining lines of communication with management and operating personnel throughout their work.\r\n\r\n\r\nResponsibilities include but not limited to the following:�\r\n\r\n\r\n Managing and maintaining software and system updates across the environment, utilizing tools such as SCCM, Intune, and PatchMyPC to automate and track update deployments.�\r\n Overseeing imaging management and troubleshooting within Intune and SCCM, ensuring consistent and reliable workstation deployments.�\r\n Managing desktop client management tools including Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Intune, Entra, Azure to support imaging, device provisioning, policy enforcement, and lifecycle management.�\r\n Managing computer policies through Intune and Group Policy Object (GPO) administration, including configuration and maintenance of Autopilot enrollment profiles and related policies.�\r\n Developing and executing scripts to automate administrative tasks, improve system configurations, and support desktop management operations.\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field AND 5 years of experience in computer operations or in providing technical computer support;\r\n\r\n\r\nOR�\r\n\r\n\r\nAssociate's degree in Computer Science or related field AND�6 years of experience in computer operations or in providing technical computer support;�\r\n\r\n\r\nOR\r\n\r\n\r\nHigh school diploma (or G.E.D.)�AND 7 years of experience in computer operations or in providing technical computer support.�\r\n\r\n\r\nDegree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region. \r\n
License Requirements
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.\r\n
Special Requirements
Must possess a minimum of ONE of the listed certifications below or closely related/comparable certification at time of appointment:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Microsoft 365 Certified\r\n \r\n Microsoft Technology Associate�\r\n Modern Desktop Administrator Associate�\r\n Endpoint Administrator Associate�\r\n \r\n \r\n CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+�\r\n HDI Desktop Advance Support Technician�\r\n ITIL Foundations�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nApplicants with these certifications are preferred, as they directly align with the role’s technical requirements. However, applicants with other relevant industry‑recognized technical certifications will also be considered, provided they demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n
