Responsibilities
The Community Development Specialist I evaluates proposed community development projects. Incumbent develops and implements�neighborhood plans and projects that accomplish the City of Dayton's redevelopment goals. Will be required to process applications and if appropriate, grant awards for assigned�projects and programs. Responsibilities include, preparing and monitoring contracts and providing technical assistance and guidance to�agencies and organizations implementing community development programs regarding project development,�legal notification, and the execution of contracts and compliance issues. Will write and review rehabilitation�specifications and prepare bid packages, monitor construction activities, approve construction work,�authorize associated payments, as well as, oversee projects. Incumbent will conduct research, including financial analysis; assist in preparing grant applications, budgets, and project completion reports. Managing� departmental budgets and financial�systems including purchase orders, contracts, and personnel information will also be required. Incumbent will prepare periodic and annual�progress reports on all assignments.\r\n
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Urban Studies, or an equivalent field.\r\n\r\n\r\nDegree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.\r\n
License Requirements
Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.\r\n
