Summary Statement
\r\n\r\nThe Delaware Department of Justice, Civil Division, Environmental Unit, seeks a Deputy Attorney General to serve as Assistant Unit Head. This position may be based in either New Castle County or Kent County. Deputy Attorneys General in this Unit represent the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (“DNREC”).\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Environmental Unit offers\r\nadvice on a full range of legal issues to DNREC, which includes the following\r\nDivisions: Waste and Hazardous Substances, Fish & Wildlife, Parks &\r\nRecreation, Watershed Stewardship, Water, Coastal, Climate & Energy, and\r\nthe Environmental Crimes Unit. Representation includes enforcement of\r\nenvironmental laws and permit violations through administrative actions and\r\nlitigation. \r\n\r\n
Essential Functions
As Assistant Unit Head, this\r\nindividual will report to the Unit Head and assist in all aspects of managing\r\nthe Unit, while separately maintaining a docket of DNREC legal assignments. The\r\nDeputy Attorney General must have or be able to develop a good working\r\nrelationship with other Deputy Attorneys General, support staff, and clients\r\nand must have the ability and determination to learn new areas.� In addition to unit management, this DAG will\r\nenforce environmental laws and permit violations through administrative actions\r\nand litigation; defend DNREC before administrative boards and Delaware Courts;\r\nreview documents, permits and contracts; review legislation and regulations;\r\nand advise in areas such as human relations and risk management.\r\n
