  • Work collaboratively with a dynamic research team to shape and execute ethnographic fieldwork, working within a project focused on the social dimensions of the energy transition and climate change.
  • Analyse and translate qualitative data into high-impact publications, as well as potentially creative outputs and actionable policy frameworks that speak directly to industry partners and communities.
  • Actively build your professional reputation by establishing collaborative, and interdisciplinary partnerships across Deakin and other universities, industry networks, and regional community stakeholders.
  • Enhance your post-PhD career by gaining experience in a cross-institutional team and contributing to team publications and events.
  • PhD in Anthropology or Geography and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
  • Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications
  • Experience conducting ethnographic or qualitative research, including interviews, participant observation, fieldwork, and qualitative data analysis
  • Research experience relating to the energy transition, decarbonisation, climate change, environmental management, or related social and environmental issues
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research
  • Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and administration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
