District Partners has been retained by a high-growth AI infrastructure company to identify a Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting. This organization is building next-generation cloud capabilities through vertically integrated data centers, GPU compute infrastructure, and power solutions. As the company continues to scale and commercialize its platform, they are seeking a technical accounting leader to help build and formalize the accounting and reporting function.
Reporting within a lean finance organization alongside the CFO, Controller, and VP of Finance, this role offers significant exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to shape accounting policy, reporting frameworks, and scalable financial operations during a critical stage of growth.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Support internal reporting packages and management reporting for executive leadership
- Research, document, and implement accounting policies across complex and evolving business areas
- Prepare technical accounting memos and support implementation of new accounting standards
- Partner with external auditors and support audit readiness efforts
- Lead revenue recognition policy development for usage-based, contract-based, and hybrid pricing models
- Analyze customer contracts to determine performance obligations and timing of revenue recognition
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate revenue capture and reporting
- Support revenue-related controls and audit documentation
- Develop accounting policies related to capitalized infrastructure assets, including GPUs, data centers, and related equipment
- Assess capitalization versus expense treatment and establish depreciation methodologies
- Support accounting for leases, financing arrangements, and long-lived asset considerations
- Partner with operations and engineering teams on cost allocation and reporting
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to validate financial inputs tied to usage-based revenue streams
- Establish and enhance internal controls over financial reporting
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across accounting workflows
- Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives, fundraising support, and growth planning
- Assist with the continued build-out of the accounting function and related processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA required
- 5–8+ years of experience within public accounting, technical accounting, or high-growth environments
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606; exposure to ASC 842, ASC 805, and complex financing structures preferred
- Experience supporting infrastructure-heavy, SaaS, cloud, or usage-based business models preferred
- Demonstrated ability to research and document technical accounting conclusions
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate effectively within fast-paced, evolving environments
- Experience supporting high-growth, venture-backed, or pre-IPO organizations
- Exposure to data center, cloud infrastructure, or capital-intensive industries
- Experience with ERP systems and data-driven reporting environments
