About the Role

Entrupy is seeking a product-focused Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote engineering team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining Python APIs used by our mobile applications and other internal services. The Senior Backend Engineer will collaborate closely with our iOS, Android and platform teams to build and scale our core authentication and fingerprinting products. This role will also work with our platform teams to deploy and run services on AWS.

Reports To: Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

→Designed, developed, and maintained backend APIs using Python for mobile applications and internal services.
→Collaborate with iOS and Android teams to integrate APIs and ensure cohesive functionality across platforms.
→Maintain best practices for code quality, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
→Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
→Utilize OpenAPI and code generation tools to streamline API development processes.
→Propose technical architecture for API and platform upgrades and implement changes.
→Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve backend systems.

5-7 years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
Strong proficiency with Python and experience developing APIs.
Proven experience with AWS or other cloud services.
Experience with database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including mobile developers and product managers.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
Familiar with or interested in AI development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
