Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Use deep sales and use tax expertise to train the product across a broad range of jurisdictions, industries, and transaction scenarios.
- →Research nuanced tax issues and apply that judgment to evaluate and strengthen how the product performs.
- →Partner closely with engineering and product teams to test outputs, identify gaps, and continuously improve product accuracy, consistency, and coverage.
- →Build and refine testing scenarios that push the product to perform at the highest level on complex customer problems.
- →Lead customer and partner onboarding and implementation efforts.
- →Own cross-functional workstreams and help prioritize improvements based on tax nuance, customer needs, and business impact.
- →Work hands-on with large data sets, tax scenarios, and product behavior to identify issues, surface patterns, and improve product performance.
- →Communicate clearly across tax, engineering, product, customers, and partners to align on priorities and drive product improvements.
Requirements
~1 min read- 6–10 years of experience in indirect tax, with a strong focus on multi-state sales and use tax
- Experience beyond routine compliance, including exposure to substantive tax issues and operational tax considerations
- Background in Big 4, industry, or government (or similarly rigorous tax environment) preferred
- Experience working across multiple industries is a plus
- Proven experience interacting with tax authorities (e.g., audits, notices, refund claims, rulings, voluntary disclosures)
- Strong tax research skills and ability to analyze large datasets
- Comfortable testing systems/products and applying domain judgment to improve outputs
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Experience managing or leading customer and partner relationships
- Technology-savvy with a willingness to work closely with product and engineering teams (no coding required)
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings and team collaboration
