Eligibility requirements
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status (international students are not eligible)
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
About EarlyON
EarlyON Child and Family Centres provide children and parents/caregivers opportunities to participate in high quality play and inquiry-based programs, led and facilitated by Registered Early Childhood Educators.
Principal job duties
- Assist with preparing materials for crafts and activities
- Ensure room is set up for each session
- Maintain a safe, positive, enriching environment for children through plan
- Role-model positive child-parent interactions during group sessions
- Role-model positive child-adult interactions during group sessions
- Communicates with parents as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- Enjoys a variety of tasks
- Experience working with children and families
- Able to work with a team and independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- This role is well suited for candidates looking for experience in family support and early childhood education
