💰 Pay Range: $110,000–$150,000+ annually (uncapped commissions, bonus opportunities)
Are you hands-on, mechanically inclined, and motivated by face-to-face customer interactions? Do you enjoy solving problems, working with tools, and earning great pay by helping customers choose the right solutions for their home?
At PDQ Doors, we’re looking for a Garage Door Technician – Sales & Service Professional to join our growing team. This unique role blends in-home consultative sales with mechanical expertise. You won’t just diagnose and fix problems — you’ll also educate homeowners, recommend upgrades, and close the sale on the spot.
If you're mechanically inclined, love working with your hands, AND have sales or consultative experience, this is your chance to blend both into one fulfilling job. As a Garage Door Sales & Technician, you’ll:
-
Diagnose and fix technical issues on residential & commercial garage doors (springs, cables, openers, panels, commercial doors, etc.)
-
Handle installations, maintenance (we use detailed inspections like 24‐point safety checks) and repairs to high standards.
-
Engage with customers: understand their needs, explain solutions, offer options, and help them pick the best door/opening system or component for their home or business.
-
Upsell and recommend premium or additional services/products when it adds real value.
-
Keep accurate records: what you did, why, photos/notes, so quality and safety are maintained and follow‐ups run smoothly.
-
Collaborate with your team for scheduling, coordinating larger installs, or emergencies.
-
Uphold all safety rules and best practices. Ladder work, lifting up to 75+ lbs, tool handling are part of the work.
-
Minimum 1 year of sales experience (outside/inside or consultative) — able to close, negotiate, explain value.
-
Comfortable with mechanical work or technical troubleshooting. Previous exposure to installation or repair work a big plus.
-
Physical readiness: lifting, climbing ladders, working with tools, being hands‐on.
-
Strong communication skills: clear, professional, patient, able to adapt to different customers.
-
Organized, able to juggle tasks, time manage well.
-
Basic education: high school diploma or equivalent. Additional credentials (relevant trade, certifications) are helpful.
-
Valid driver’s license, clean motor vehicle record.
