This role is centered on designing, building, and supporting automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance accuracy across critical healthcare processes. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in automation technologies—particularly Power Automate—along with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Software Design and Dev COE team in the role of Intermediate Information Services Developer. This position is full time, hybrid located in Indianapolis, IN.
Role Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automation solutions using Power Automate, ServiceNow, and RPA tools such as Blue Prism
- Support a portfolio of automation initiatives for Revenue Cycle Services, including both project-based work and ongoing production support
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze processes, and translate needs into scalable automation solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing automation workflows; monitor performance and optimize reliability
- Collaborate with IS leadership and cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver automation solutions with measurable business impact
- Contribute to AI-driven use cases, partnering with internal teams to evaluate and implement intelligent automation opportunities
- Help mature and expand ServiceNow automation capabilities, including potential ownership of select automation functions
- Document solutions, provide knowledge transfer, and support end users and operations teams
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
Preferred
- Experience with ServiceNow workflows or automation capabilities
- Exposure to RPA platforms (e.g., Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere)
- Experience integrating systems via APIs, connectors, or data services
- Familiarity with healthcare workflows, particularly Revenue Cycle processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug, troubleshoot, and optimize solutions
- Experience working with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Excellent communication skills—ability to explain technical concepts in clear, business-friendly language
- Exposure to AI or intelligent automation use cases
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, compliance-focused industries)
Required
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience in software development, automation, or a related field
Requires experience with one or more programming languages, including but not limited to: SQL, CCL(Cerner Command Language), HTML, CSS, XML, TCL, or JavaScript.
Requires database experience such as but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
Healthcare, health insurance and health providers experience and understanding of processes is desired.
Web-based technology experience (browsers, CSS, XML, XHTML, XSLT, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, AJAX) preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Power Automate (cloud flows and/or desktop flows)
- Experience building and supporting end-to-end automation solutions (workflows, integrations, or RPA)
