Under the oversight of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of the Chief of Mission in Copenhagen in Denmark; and, in collaboration with relevant units at the IOM Sub-Regional Office in Brussels, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the  implementation and reporting of the Danish resettlement quota programme, as well as supporting the implementation and reporting  of other relevant projects under the IOM Denmark office.

  1. Assist with resettlement movements activities from countries of departure to Denmark under the Danish resettlement programme (DKRST), in line with established guidelines as well as the IOM-Denmark Framework Agreement on resettlement cooperation and related documents.
  2. Process resettlement beneficiaries by registering incoming cases and following up with IOM offices in countries of departures and project partners on administrative tasks and logistics related to selection missions, health assessments, Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO), including travel document issuance and other assistance.
  3. Support the arrangement of international travel, including coordination of arrival dates, reception and handover to project partners and receiving Danish municipalities.
  4. Support the monitoring and registration of programme results in organizational databases according to institutional policies and provide updates on programme activities to project partners.
  5. Provide departure, transit, and arrival assistance to refugees arriving at Copenhagen Airport, including regular office hours as necessary (early mornings/late evenings).
  6. Carry out administrative tasks related to resettlement operations, including but not limited to establishing and maintaining files and supporting documentation.
  7. Provide logistical support to other movement operations to and from Denmark such as self-payers or other migrants departing from, transiting or arriving to Denmark.
  8. Provide inputs to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the various steps of movement operations in Denmark in coordination with the IOM the Sub-regional office in Brussels and IOM Headquarters (RMM).
  9. Provide inputs to donor reports and support the development of project proposals for submission to potential donors.
  10. Assist in the timely implementation and reporting of other IOM Denmark projects, as needed and feasible.
  11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Chief of Mission.
     

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in fields relating to resettlement or other IOM programming (e.g. social work, political/social science, migration issues) from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience, or,
  • High school diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.

 

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

  • Knowledge of IOM resettlement operations and previous experience with IOM provided airport assistance is considered an advantage.
  • Relevant experience supporting activities in the area of migration is considered an advantage.

 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in working in an intercultural setting is considered an advantage.
  • Good teamwork skills.
     

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).

Working knowledge of Danish, Amharic, Arabic, Dari, or Swahili is considered advantageous.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
