Under the general administrative supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM), the overall guidance of the Head of Human Resources and the direct supervision of the Senior HR Associate in Germany, the intern will support the operational, administrative and digital documentation activities of the HR Team.
Administrative Support Across the Employee Lifecycle
Preparation of employee certificates
Drafting of reference letters
Maintenance and organization of digital personnel files
Archiving HR documentation
Assisting in the digitization of HR documentation
HR Projects
Support of compliance projects
Drafting material & presentation for events and in-house training
The intern will also perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or the Chief of Mission.
Requirements
Fluency in English and German (written and spoken) is required
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
Prior experience in Human Resources or a related administrative field is an asset
An interest in the work of international organizations and issues related to migration.
An interest in digitalization, data management, and HR processes.
The HR Team’s responsibilities include staff planning, recruitment, payroll and HR administration. To strengthen the team’s capacity, the intern will support these core HR functions and the transition towards more efficient, paperless workflows by contributing to document management, data organization, and digital archiving activities. The internship will provide the incumbent with hands-on experience in HR digitalization and comprehensive exposure to the full range of HR administration and operational functions.
Requirements

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)

Responsibilities
~2 min readDepending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.
IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the internship. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
Any offer made to the candidate in relation to this vacancy notice is subject to funding confirmation.
