About the Role
~3 min readThis is a unique opportunity to join a truly fascinating project exploring resources on the Moon. In this role, you will support the assurance of rover development, production, integration, and verification activities, ensuring that project deliverables, supplier outputs, inspection records, non-conformances, and review evidence meet applicable quality and product assurance requirements.
As a Product Assurance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of our lunar products. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality management systems, conducting assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
The position is based in Luxembourg and reports to the PA/QA Group Manager (CTO Group), working closely with the team members of ispace Europe.
Implement product/quality assurance throughout the lifecycle of rover projects.
- Develop and implement PA/QA plans. Follow the product development process and ensure that product assurance principles are observed accordingly
- Oversee the manufacturing process, providing support for inspection activities
- Support Parts, Materials and Processes activities, including review of supplier declarations, manufacturing processes, inspection evidence, material/process deviations, and compliance with applicable project requirements
- Support supplier quality assurance activities, including review of supplier deliverables, manufacturing and inspection documentation, non-conformance handling, and participation in supplier reviews or audits where required.
- Participate in design/engineering/MAIT/manufacturing reviews, ensuring that ispace rovers comply with quality, safety and reliability standards
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess process compliance and identify possible risks or non-conformances.
- Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of a compliant quality system and promote a quality culture throughout the organization.
- Lead resolution of internal NCs, ensuring that root causes are identified and understood, mitigations are properly implemented and lessons learned recorded and disseminated.
- Participate in Risk and Change Management meetings, ensuring the product assurance perspective is adequately represented.
- Participate in test campaigns, verifying test configurations, equipment calibration and procedures.
- Engineering Degree in a scientific or technical discipline with 3-5 years’ experience working in a quality engineer position in a space environment.
- Familiarity with ECSS product assurance standards, EN 9100, and practical experience applying quality requirements in space hardware, software, or AIT environments, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge in the development/production of a space application product.
- Understanding EEE, AIT, software QA/PA.
- Able to work independently while coordinating effectively with engineering, project, supplier, and customer stakeholders.
- Rigorous, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced development environment.
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to identify risks, and drive practical quality improvements.
- Experience with space flight hardware.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication, integration processes, quality, and configuration management systems.
- Experience with successfully engaging and collaborating with distributed teams.
