Porter Job Description - JLL 


Job Purpose

The Events Operational Assistant is required to assist in setting up meeting rooms and event spaces. He/She is responsible for ensuring the general upkeep and appearance of each space meets the highest standard. He/She will work closely with the facilities manager and clients on ad hoc duties.



Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Ensure floors and overall facilities are maintained to a high standard through daily checks and floor walks.
  • Identify, report, and follow up on onsite maintenance issues, hazards, and safety incidents with the Facilities Manager.
  • Oversee, clean, organize, and maintain pantries, social areas, and storage spaces in a tidy condition.
  • Manage and control inventory for snacks, crockery, cutlery, event equipment, and tools, including processing, tracking, and receiving stock orders.
  • Set up meeting rooms and event spaces according to client requirements (e.g., furniture arrangement, water, tea, coffee, breakfast, and lunch servicing), coordinate small events and snack activations, and conduct prompt post-event cleanup with janitorial support.
  • Facilitate food deliveries, escort suppliers, and support catering services with a customer-focused, hospitality mindset.
  • Manage event-related logistics, storage, deliveries, and process ad hoc tasks as assigned.
  • Install and remove notices and posters across facilities, including notice boards and restrooms.
  • Provide comprehensive support to clients, upsell facilities, and inform the Facilities Manager of service gaps.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure proper handovers for duty coverage.
  • Assist with health and safety regulations, food health compliance, bell tests, routines, and act as Fire Marshall (Optional).
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver high standards of service.
  • Provide operational cover at alternative nearby sites (within 4 minutes walking distance) as needed.

Skills Required

  • Highly organized and excellent time management
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Customer service experience 
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and manoeuvre furniture and heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday - 9:00am to 6:00pm

Reporting Structure 

• Reports to: Porters Supervisor
