As a Technical Service Engineer, you'll be the technical backbone behind the quality and success of Lunar installations. You'll provide remote support to our channel partners and Field Service Engineers, serve as a subject-matter expert on Lunar products, and help monitor the fleet to proactively address site issues.
This role is based primarily at our Mountain View HQ, with some local and national travel required.

- Provide remote support (phone, live-chat, email) to installation partners and Field Service Engineers, and help coordinate which sites need in-person visits.
- Serve as the subject-matter expert on installing and troubleshooting all Lunar products, performing root-cause analysis both remotely and on-site.
- Assess and approve field RMAs; own escalations end-to-end, following up with customers and internal teams (e.g., Tier 3 tickets) through resolution.
- Monitor alerts through the Lunar System Alerting dashboard to proactively identify site issues and update the installing company of any site visits required
- Analyze telemetry and key metrics to flag common installer errors and recommend training, design, or hardware/software improvements.
- Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on technical field experience.
- 5+ years designing and installing residential solar, battery, and/or EV charging systems.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a driving background check.
- Electrical Journeyman certification or license preferred; solid knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes.
- Ability to read single-line drawings, permit packages, and technical specs for PV and ESS systems (EVSE a plus).
- Comfortable interpreting device telemetry and spotting anomalies in large data sets.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex electrical issues; familiarity with interconnection and AHJ processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office/G-Suite.
- Flexible schedule (including occasional weekends/holidays) and willingness to travel, primarily within your local region.
