The Head of Agile Delivery is responsible for leading the agile delivery function
This role involves overseeing the progress of both the execution of MAK’s technology transformation initiatives and the ongoing usage and implementation of Agile practices across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing transformation roadmaps, managing project governance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement, all while ensuring that Agile methodologies are consistently applied to deliver software efficiently and with high quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee Agile delivery across multiple teams and business areas, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, customer commitments, and delivery targets.
- Provide strategic leadership in the adoption, implementation, and continuous improvement of Agile frameworks, governance, standards, and practices to support business objectives and organisational growth.
- Lead, coach, and develop Agile practitioners, including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and delivery leaders, fostering high-performing, collaborative, and self-organising teams.
- Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence across the organisation.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, influencing decision-making, managing expectations, and ensuring alignment on priorities, risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes.
- Establish, monitor, analyse, and report on Agile and delivery performance metrics, using data-driven insights to improve predictability, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage risks, dependencies, impediments, and delivery challenges, driving effective problem-solving and informed decision-making.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Quality, Platform, and business stakeholders to support effective planning, prioritisation, and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Analyse delivery trends, team performance, and organisational effectiveness, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and driving corrective actions where necessary.
- Support organisational transformation initiatives by promoting Agile principles, practices, and mindsets, enabling sustainable change and increased organisational agility.
- Ensure effective governance, stakeholder communication, and reporting of delivery performance, strategic initiatives, risks, and dependencies.
- Promote operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives that enhance delivery capability, team effectiveness, process maturity, and customer outcomes.
Objectives:
- Achieve consistent adoption of the Agile delivery framework across all relevant teams.
- Improve delivery predictability, targeting a sprint success rate of >85% and reducing unplanned work to below 15% of team capacity.
- Establish regular Agile reporting and provide clear visibility of delivery performance, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.
- Increase organisational Agile maturity through coaching, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective stakeholder alignment and timely resolution of delivery risks and escalations.
- Drive measurable improvements in team effectiveness, collaboration, and delivery efficiency year-on-year.

The employee shall:
- Ensure appropriate handling of personal and health information in line with confidentiality and integrity standards;
- Report suspected data breaches or security incidents promptly;
- Follow established access control, data classification, and secure communication protocols;
- Participate in mandatory training and audits related to information security and data protection;
- Apply the company's best practices and guidance to safeguard information assets and support the company's compliance; and
- Practice responsibilities as defined in the Information Security Policy in accordance with the employee’s role.
Previous Experiences/Qualifications:
- Extensive experience leading large-scale Agile delivery initiatives.
- Strong expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) with a proven track record of scaling Agile practices across an organization.
- Expertise in IT project management, governance, and risk management, with strong knowledge of Agile project frameworks.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in a regulated industry is highly desirable.
