Main Purpose of Job
The Administrator\r\nIII will plan and lead the implementation of community engagement efforts to\r\nsupport regulatory development by deeply understanding user needs and behaviors.\r\nThe ideal candidate will utilize human-centered design principles to plan and\r\nimplement a variety of outreach and community engagement activities. Key\r\nresponsibilities include conducting demographic research using methods such as\r\ninterviews, surveys, workshops, and observation to understand community\r\nmembers’ and stakeholders’ priorities and pain points. Additional\r\nresponsibilities include communicating findings clearly, defining problems\r\nbased on user insights and program goals, and maintaining consistent\r\ncommunication with stakeholders throughout the engagement process.\r\n�\r\nThis\r\nposition will coordinate these activities alongside conducting complementary\r\npolicy analysis and development support to the Policy Division within the\r\nClimate Change Program. The Climate Change Program is responsible for\r\ndeveloping and implementing nation-leading policies to reduce and sequester\r\ngreenhouse gas emissions to mitigate the impacts of climate change. Our work\r\nimproves the health and welfare of people and the environment while developing\r\na dynamic clean energy economy in Maryland.\r\n�\r\nThe\r\nincumbent in this position will also provide support for legislative efforts\r\nrelated to climate change and represent the program in the state’s\r\nparticipation in the U.S Climate Alliance. The Climate Change Policy Division\r\nactivities support the Maryland Department of the Environment’s mission to\r\nprotect and restore the environment for the health and well-being of all\r\nMarylanders. \r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\nExperience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work. \r\nNotes: \r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience. \r\n3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r\n4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. \r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
