Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to assist with strategies for youth substance use prevention, opioid misuse�prevention and alcohol compliance/highway safety through a variety of interventions and strategies.�These include, but are not limited to: collaborating with public�schools to facilitate an after-school program using evidence-based substance use prevention programs in two elementary schools; delivering Narcan training, facilitating responsible beverage seller and service programs, conducting academic detailing sessions, facilitating parent/family education programs, collaborating with local law enforcement to conduct alcohol compliance checks; and assisting with youth ambassador training and the Worcester County Youth Council. This position will also provide community outreach and education designed to promote healthy lifestyle�practices across the lifespan.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe selected applicant must be willing and able to travel to all Worcester County sites and will be required to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours.�\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\nExperience: One year of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources. \r\nNotes: \r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. \r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience facilitating group education classes\r\n Experience using evidence-based curriculum to educate youth\r\n Experience monitoring grant performance measures\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n
