Main Purpose of Job
This is an important position in the Board’s Compliance Unit.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe main purpose of this part-time contractual Health Occupations Investigator position will be to assist the Pharmacist Investigator Supervisor and the Compliance Director in the investigation of alleged misconduct of pharmacy businesses and pharmacy professionals. The Health Occupations Investigator will perform investigations of complaints received by the Board regarding the operation of pharmacies and the performance of licensed and/or registered personnel.\r\n\r\n\r\nUnder the supervision of the Pharmacist Investigator Supervisor, the Health Occupations Investigator will also be responsible for the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Gathering information from complainants, witnesses, and respondents;\r\n Conducting on-site investigations;\r\n Summarizing complaints received by the Board and obtaining information/evidence needed in the investigation;\r\n Obtaining signed statements when warranted;\r\n Preparing subpoenas for obtaining physical and documentary evidence; and\r\n Working with Board members, Board Counsel, the Executive Director, Pharmacist Investigator Supervisor, and Compliance Director in developing cases and performing technical tasks.\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPlease Note: This position is hybrid telework eligible.\r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:�Six years of experience conducting criminal investigations, including the preparation of analyses and reports for use in legal proceedings. \r\nNotes:\r\n1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree in the field of criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement or an allied health field (such as nursing, pharmacy, psychology, social work, nutrition, dietetics, speech pathology, audiology) from an accredited college or university and two years of experience conducting criminal investigations, including the preparation of analyses and reports for use in legal proceedings for the required experience.\r\n2.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service�experience as a commissioned officer in�Investigator, Police�and�Intelligence�Specialist�classifications or Investigator, Police and�Intelligence�specialty codes in the criminal�investigation field of work on a year-for-year basis for the�required experience.\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this�classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification may be required to have daily use of a motor vehicle while on official State business. Standard mileage allowance will be paid for use of a privately owned vehicle.\r\n

BENEFITS
\r\nContractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.\r\nLeave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r\n\r\n
