Main Purpose of Job

This position functions at the intermediate level of practical nursing to provide direct care to severely\r\nemotionally disturbed adolescents in the day treatment and residential setting that is\r\nfamily driven and youth guided.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nEducation:�� Determined by\r\nthe Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Practical\r\nNurses.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience: One year of experience as\r\na Licensed Practical Nurse.\r\n\r\n\r\nNote:�Candidates may substitute\r\nU.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in\r\nNursing classifications�or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty\r\ncodes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required\r\nexperience.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Experience working in mental health nursing.\r\n Experience with crisis intervention and/or de-escalation.\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

\r\n1. Candidates for positions in this\r\nclassification must possess a current license as a Practical Nurse from the\r\nMaryland Board of Nursing.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Employees in this classification\r\nmay be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.\r\nEmployees assigned such duties will be require to possess a motor vehicle\r\noperator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n\r\n\r\n3. Employees in this classification\r\nmay be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of\r\ncardiopulmonary resuscitation training.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

\r\n1. Employees in this classification\r\nare subject to call-in, and therefore, will be required to provide the facility\r\nwith a telephone number where they can be reached.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Employees in this classification\r\nare subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland\r\nRegulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
