Main Purpose of Job
The Office Secretary III will be responsible for providing secretarial support to the Intake and/or Circuit and District court divisions of our Anne Arundel County, Maryland locations. This position involves contact with indigent clients facing criminal charges and their families, over the phone and in person, to provide and gather information. It also involves regular data entry. In addition, this position may require assistance with attorney case management and filings of template forms and documents within the court filing system. POSITION DUTIES
Providing information to and gathering information from clients\r\nCreating client profiles and entering data in case management database\r\nFiling legal documents (motions, subpoenas, pleadings)\r\nProcessing incoming mail and correspondence�\r\nAnswering incoming phone calls on a multi-line phone system\r\nUsing template forms and documents as requested by attorneys or administrative staff\r\nMaking photocopies, faxing documents and performing other clerical functions\r\nPerforming other duties as assigned�\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\nExperience: Three years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.\r\nNotes:�\r\n1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.\r\n2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience. \r\n3.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.��\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\r\nExperience working in a law office or court system. Good organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to multi-task. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Software and� Google Applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge and or experience with MDEC.�\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position. \r\n
SELECTION PROCESS
