Main Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for shelving incoming files from State\r\nagencies that are being returned following a records request (refiles) or being\r\nadded to already transferred boxes at the State Records Center (interfiles).\r\nAdditionally, this position supports the facility’s incoming records transfers\r\nand outgoing records disposals as required.\r\n
POSITION DUTIES
Duties for this position include, but\r\nare not limited to:\r\n\r\n Insert incoming refiles and interfiles into the\r\n appropriate shelf locations.�\r\n Review and inventory all incoming refiles and\r\n interfiles submitted by State agencies.�\r\n Rehouse refiles and interfiles that do not fit in\r\n their original shelf locations.�\r\n Support the Records Transfer Specialists by\r\n assisting in the handling of record center boxes during transfer and\r\n disposal processes at the discretion of the State Records Center\r\n Administrator.�\r\n Carries out other duties as assigned.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.�\r\nExperience: One year of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.�\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:���\r\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.�\r\n2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong\r\npreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred\r\nqualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your\r\napplication regarding all qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\n Two years of experience performing warehouse work.�\r\n Experience handling government records.�\r\n Experience with warehouse technology, including\r\n personnel lifts and pallet jacks.�\r\n Ability to work independently and multitask.�\r\n Ability to work well with other team members.\r\n\r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1.Candidates may be responsible for providing their own transportation�as needed to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations as assigned.\r\n2.Must be able to lift 50lb. boxes.��\r\n3.Must be comfortable working at heights of 20 ft.\r\n\r\n\r\n

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State\r\nEmployee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current\r\nemployment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours\r\nper month), may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for\r\nthemselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be\r\nresponsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription\r\ncoverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of\r\nMaryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You\r\ncan also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment\r\ninsurance, and life insurance, but you will be responsible for paying the full\r\npremium for these benefits. \r\n�\r\nLeave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in\r\na 12-month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours\r\nworked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.\r\n
