Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to manage a Construction Division regional field office by supervising assigned personnel and managing the DGS construction contract workload in the assigned region that is associated with a specific geographical area.\r\n

POSITION DUTIES

\r\nDuties for this\r\nposition include but�are not limited to:\r\n\r\n- Acts as backup to\r\nChief and Area Supervisor, representing the division in meetings and managing\r\ndaily operations as needed.�\r\n- Coordinates with\r\ninternal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to report project status, resolve\r\nissues, and support timely decisions.�\r\n- Manages\r\ncorrespondence, equipment, materials, office operations, and resource needs.�\r\n- Oversees\r\ninspectors, including staffing, scheduling, training, performance evaluations,\r\nand quality control of work.�\r\n- Conducts site\r\nvisits to verify work quality and compliance with contract documents.�\r\n- Ensures accurate\r\nand complete project documentation, files, and change order records.�\r\n- Leads meetings,\r\nreviews project documents, processes change orders, ensures compliance with\r\nprocurement \r\nrules, and oversees required reporting.��\r\n- Directs all\r\nproject phases (pre-construction, active, close-out, and warranty), resolving\r\nissues, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring timely completion.\r\n-�Approve\r\ncontracts for project schedule, construction status updates, proposed change\r\norders, invoices and A-E performance evaluations.\r\n-�Review\r\nproject files including completion of files, ensuring all significant project\r\nrelated actions are documented and maintain balance sheet.\r\n\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nStrong preference will be given to applicants who\r\npossess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and\r\nspecific information on your application regarding�all qualifications.\r\n\r\n\r\nEducation:\r\nGraduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school\r\nequivalency certificate.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience:\r\nTen\r\nyears of experience in the building construction, including three years of\r\nsupervising, managing and/or�inspecting major construction projects.�\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:��\r\n1.\r\nCandidates may substitute the possession of a current registration as a\r\nProfessional Engineer in Maryland or in a state with comparable requirements\r\nfor four years of required experience. Candidates must present evidence of\r\nregistration with the application.��\r\n\r\n\r\n2.\r\nCandidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical or\r\nmechanical engineering from an accredited college or university approved by the\r\nEngineers' Council for Professional Development and six years of experience in\r\nthe building construction field, at least three years of which must have\r\nincluded overseeing or inspecting major construction projects for the required\r\nexperience.��\r\n\r\n\r\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S.\r\nArmed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Civil\r\nEngineering Corps�classifications or Construction Analyst or Civil\r\nEngineering specialty codes in the Engineering field of work on a year-for-year\r\nbasis for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
