The Construction Project Engineer supports the Construction Project Manager and is responsible for the oversight of the most major aspects of construction work, including organizing the acquisition of materials, equipment and works, and planning for costs on various tasks. The Construction Project Engineer coordinates with projects field personnel and project leadership on progress and status of the worked performed. Responsible for supporting the generation of Request for Information (RIFs). Offers technical information to project supervision to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications. Has a general understanding of project budgets and assists with buyouts. Monitors and tracks project quality control metrics and activities by providing timely reports to the PM or Superintendent as appropriate. 
  • Read and interpret project drawing and specifications, provide material take-offs, formulate construction cost estimates, and prepare proposals. 
  • Manage project scope, schedule and budget. 
  • Prepare change order documentation. 
  • Create project management plans. 
  • Create project quality control plans. 
  • Prepare Critical Path Method Schedules. 
  • Reading, understanding, and working with construction crews to follow project specific documents. 
  • Maintaining project files. 
  • Creating inspection check lists. 
  • Carrying out and documenting the results of construction inspections. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or Project Management
  • 0-5 Years of related experience, including commercial construction management experience and experience working with public entities
  • Utility and roadway construction experience as a Project Engineer or Project Management
  • Procore experience preferred 
  • OSHA 10 preferred 
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish), preferred 
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices, materials, equipment, and sequencing
  • Application of civil, structural, or MEP engineering principles and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Ability to develop and track project schedules, coordinate tasks, and manage milestones using tools like Primavera or MS Project
  • Skills in quantity take-offs, estimating, tracking project costs, and assisting budget management
  • Proficient in handling RFIs, submittals, change orders, and familiarity with contract terms and administration
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, environmental regulations, and OSHA safety standards
  • Ability to conduct site visits, support construction activities, resolve issues, and monitor quality and safety
  • Capable of identifying issues early, evaluating solutions, and implementing corrective actions efficiently 
  • Skilled in software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, Revit, or construction management platforms 
  • Clear written and verbal communication for collaboration with contractors, clients, and internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain detailed records
  • Works effectively in cross-functional teams and represents the company professionally with stakeholders
