Risk Capital Modernization Lead

We are seeking a Risk Capital Modernization Lead to support the Capital Risk team within the Capital Risk Department, based in Budapest. As a member of our risk management department, you will gain insights into global capital management for regulatory and business purposes. In the Firm Risk Management division, we advise businesses across the Firm on risk mitigation strategies, develop tools to analyse and monitor risks and lead key regulatory initiatives. What you'll do in the role: * Lead the Risk Capital technology modernization agenda, including automation and AI initiatives * Own the roadmap of Risk Capital transformation initiatives and drive alignment on priorities, scope, and delivery with Risk Capital and other teams’ stakeholders * Partner with Risk Capital SMEs to identify high-impact modernization opportunities across the team and convert them into practical, scalable solutions * Advance AI-related initiatives within Risk Capital, including use cases in analytics, documentation, monitoring, and decision support * Support the design and implementation of technology enhancements, including improvements to data flows, calculations, tooling, and process orchestration * Serve as the representative of the Risk Capital team to other key groups such as Technology and Data teams, understand and integrate organizational best practices to help ensure effective and efficient transformation solutions What you'll bring to the role: * Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred * Relevant experience in transformation, process improvement, data, technology, analytics, or change-oriented roles within a complex organization * Demonstrated interest in modernization, automation, digital tooling, data transformation, or AI-related initiatives, with the ability to move ideas toward implementation * Strong execution skills and ability to manage discrete workstreams from concept through delivery in a structured but pragmatic way * Comfort working with technical and quantitative stakeholders and engaging in discussions on data, process design, automation, and AI use cases * Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate modernization ideas, solution benefits, and implementation considerations effectively * Familiarity with modern productivity, analytics, or workflow tools and strong comfort learning new technologies quickly * Familiarity with regulatory capital, RWA, stress testing, or broader risk management concepts is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate #LI-hybrid #LI-JL01 WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
