MTSU seeks candidates committed to innovative teaching and meaningful service. We also seek to attract culturally and academically diverse faculty who value working with diverse students.

The salary is commensurate with education and experience.

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#145260) in religious studies, at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching five courses each semester, but university service and research are not required.

A Master of Arts in Religious Studies or a Master of Divinity is required by the appointment date.

Applicants with a specialization in Christianity will receive special consideration, as will those with a PhD in religious studies.
