To develop, deploy and exploit AECI's blasting expertise through innovation and value adding projects for both surface and underground operations to the best advantage of the company and its stakeholders.
Job Description:
•
To Conduct AECI value adding projects to customers
•
Develop blast designs, blast enhancement to new innovations and product conversions
•
Monitor product performance, accuracy of timing, stemming effectiveness, air blast and ground vibration levels and videography
•
Determine required fragmentation and other blast aspects.
•
Collect data and analyze and make recommendations for improvement.
•
Interpret blast design for safe and efficient blasting.
•
Communicate blast design data to supervisor, customer, and subcontractor.
•
Manage closure of blasting issues or complaint through visiting site, conducting analysis and writing reports.
•
Identify potential hazards and risks associated with a poor blast design
•
Excellent Technical Report writing, document findings and preparing presentations.
•
Technical coaching and training of the crew.
•
Observe and ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Environments standards.
•
To perform any other duties within his/her competencies as the demands of the job require to ensure efficient and continuous business operations
Qualification
A minimum of bachelor’s degree in mining, Geological or Civil Engineering with 3 years relevant experience.
Knowledge of both surface and underground mining under different conditions.
• Must possess a minimum of Blasting Certificate of Competency from Minerals Commission.
• Ability to develop innovative blast designs for new products.
• Comprehensive knowledge of products and applications across markets or specialist (technical expert) in specific markets.
• Ability to draw on extensive and broad industry experience (Surface and underground) to apply diversified solutions and techniques to complex situations and as needed.
• Ability to analyze technical data and blast results for identification of market trends.
•Rely on first principle, fundamental engineering theory and broad industry knowledge to ensure practical solutions.
•Knowledge of mine methods, mine design production scheduling and equipment selection
• Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must have committed attitude to onsite Health and Safety standards
• Must have good interpersonal skills and be a team player.
• Must be able to work independently.
