Shop Assistant

Our client, a Convenience Shop is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and a wide range of products to our local community. We are looking for a motivated and friendly Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will live nearby and have previous experience working in supermarkets.

Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to all customers, addressing their needs and inquiries efficiently.
• Stock Management: Assist in receiving, unpacking, and organizing merchandise. Ensure shelves are stocked and displays are neat and attractive.
• Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and balance the till at the end of shifts.
• Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the shop, including sweeping, mopping, and ensuring the shelves and products are dust-free.
• Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the products we sell, including new arrivals, and be able to provide recommendations to customers.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth shop operations and a positive working environment.
• Other Duties: Assist with other tasks as needed, including opening and closing the shop.

Requirements:

• Experience: Previous experience working in a supermarket or similar retail environment.
• Proximity: Must live close to Mqabba.
• Customer Focused: Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Communication: Good verbal communication skills in English.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving stock.
• Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
