ROLE
Surerus is looking to hire a Loader Operator to support operations in our Fort St John location. You'll be responsible for loading and unloading materials and equipment within the Fort St John yard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Comply with Surerus Safety practices and procedures
Operate loaders, and other heavy equipment as required, safely and efficiently
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance, and lubrication to ensure machinery is in good working order
Coordinate with team members to place or move materials and equipment accurately
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments
Perform additional tasks such as leveling land, spreading material or snow removal depending on site needs

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

Certification or experience operating front-end loaders and other heavy equipment, including but not limited to gravel trucks
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work
Eligible to work in Canada

Experience

Previous experience working in an equipment/truck repair shop and yard is considered an asset

Skills & Knowledge

Self-starter with problem solving skills and adaptability
Physical strength and stamina to operate machinery for extended periods
Excellent hand-eye coordination and situational awareness to handle materials precisely
Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team
Safety conscious and aware of job site protocols
Attention to detail, reliable, and a strong work ethic
Excellent communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based in Fort St John and often works within the yard and other locations. Must be able to work 8 – 10 hour days, 5 - 6 days a week.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required as a condition of employment. Steel toed boots are required for this position.

COMPENSATION
The hourly rate for this position is $32.00 to $36.00 per hour, depending on the candidates skills and experience.
