Head of Energy Solutions Company Overview Our client is a dynamic and innovative energy services provider, delivering reliable, efficient, and sustainable power solutions. They specialize in electrical installations, maintenance, and energy management across a diverse property portfolio, ensuring operational excellence and resilience for clients and tenants. Role Overview This is a senior leadership opportunity as Head of Energy Solutions, leading the Energy Solutions Business Unit. The role combines technical expertise with strategic oversight, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of electrical and energy solutions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping energy strategy, driving efficiency initiatives, and managing complex projects across multiple properties. A valid Wireman’s Licence or Master Electrician certification is required, along with proven experience in MV/LV systems, generators, and utilities. Business Unit Mandate The Energy Solutions Business Unit is responsible for: Electrical installations and maintenance within the property management division Energy management and efficiency initiatives across all buildings Providing solar, generator, UPS, and related solutions to properties and tenants This division ensures sustainability, reliability, and innovation across operations. Responsibilities Planning & Design: Interpret blueprints, develop electrical plans, estimate costs, and manage timelines Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and ensure adherence to NEC/SANS codes Project Management: Coordinate trades, manage procurement, inventory, and vendor relationships Installation: Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose and repair MV/LV systems, motors, and controls; perform preventative maintenance Leadership & Training: Mentor junior electricians, enforce best practices, and foster a culture of safety and quality Requirements Requirements Valid Wireman’s Licence / Master Electrician (mandatory) Extensive experience with generators, MV/LV fault finding, reticulation, and MV switching (advantageous) Strong electrical problem-solving and managerial skills Expertise in tendering, costing, and procurement processes Utilities experience and excellent interpersonal skills
