We are looking for a People Business Partner to who can step into a fast-moving, global business and make things better - not just maintain what’s there.
We’re not looking for a traditional HR Business Partner. This is a role for someone who:
- Sees gaps and fixes them
- Challenges leaders (constructively, but directly)
- Brings structure without slowing things down
- Can operate at pace, where priorities evolve
You will partner with leaders at all levels across Australia, the UK and the US, helping shape how we operate, how we perform and how we scale.
You will play a highly hands-on role with real breadth spanning strategic partnering, organisational effectiveness, and complex people matters in a fast-moving, tech-driven environment.
This is a small team. There’s no separation between strategy and execution - you’ll be just as comfortable in the detail as you are setting direction and you won’t hesitate to step in and get things done.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- You won’t inherit perfect frameworks — you’ll improve them.
- Whether it’s performance, structure, or ways of working, you’ll bring clarity and make it stick.
- Work closely with senior leaders as a true thought partner — not just advising, but influencing decisions and outcomes.
- Set a high bar.
- Coach leaders to lead better, make clearer calls and hold their teams accountable.
- From tough performance conversations to sensitive ER matters you’ll manage issues end to end with sound judgement and confidence.
- Work across regions and a mix of team structures, balancing consistency with what works in practice.
- Use data, instinct and commercial thinking to focus effort where it actually matters.
- Proven experience as a Senior People/HR Business Partner in a fast-paced, scaling environment (tech, digital, or similar)
- Experience working across global or multi layered workforce environments (e.g. distributed teams, different employment models or partner/vendor setups)
- Strong commercial instincts — you understand how people decisions impact the business
- Comfortable working in ambiguity — you don’t need everything mapped out
- Confidence to challenge senior leaders and push for better outcomes
- Deep experience managing complex employee relations and high-stakes situations
- A builder mindset — you improve things, not just run them
- High ownership — you take things through to outcome, not just recommendation
- You’ve worked in environments where things weren’t perfect and you made them better
- You understand how to operate effectively where not everything sits neatly within your control
- You back your judgement - comfortable working autonomously, making decisions and moving things forward without waiting for direction
- You balance pace with quality (you know when “good enough” is righ and when it’s not)
- You bring structure, but you’re not rigid
- You’re credible, calm, and direct — especially when things get hard than you found them
