Responsibilities
~1 min readAs a Band 3 Locum Therapy Assistant you will work closely with senior members of the RAAR, Outlier, and ward-based multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to provide comprehensive care and rehabilitation to complex neuro trauma patients within the acute hospital setting. You will assist in implementing therapy interventions prescribed by physiotherapists (PT), occupational therapists (OT), and speech and language therapists (SLT). You will support patients with personal care activities, including washing, dressing, toileting, and eating, ensuring their comfort and dignity. You will contribute to patient assessments and support the development of individualized care plans. You will maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
Requirements
~1 min read- Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Experience working with neurological patients and/or in rehabilitation settings as a rehab support worker or therapy assistant
- Ability to carry out prescribed therapy interventions under the supervision of qualified therapists
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Availability to work full-time, including the potential for occasional weekend shifts
