We are building the future of financial services in Canada, empowering millions of people to invest, save, and grow their money with confidence. The Content Lead will be a foundational member of the team, ensuring our ambitious content mission is executed with precision and authority. The Margin (https://themargin.news) is QuestMedia's flagship editorial outlet, an independent Canadian finance publication covering money, markets, and the culture around them, targeting a financially literate audience that doesn't want to be talked down to. This role requires someone who can write with authority and personality at volume, work closely with external contributors, and ensure every piece of published content is engaging and consistent with our voice and mission. In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:  Original content production: Be a primary contributor to The Margin's published content, including short-form reactive pieces, medium-length articles, long-form features, newsletter instalments, podcasts, and more. This is a hands-on writing role with the expectation of a high weekly output. Content strategy and production: Participate in strategic editorial planning across formats – short-form reactive pieces, long-form features, and event-based content – while overseeing the end-to-end content lifecycle from pitch approval to publication. This includes maintaining a daily delivery cadence across all platforms and producing and managing content for daily and weekly newsletters. Freelance management: Manage the creative workflow for external contributors, including soliciting and refining pitches and providing comprehensive editing for all submissions. Regularly consult with the Deputy Editor to determine which pitches to greenlight, assisting in the curation of the editorial calendar. Editing: Provide developmental editing to contributors, honing story narratives and ensuring all content is authoritative, engaging, and aligned with the QuestMedia voice. Enforce adherence to our style guide for accuracy, consistent voice, and Canadian financial context. Support newsroom operations: Serve as the reliable backup for the Deputy Editor, managing key tasks to keep the newsroom running efficiently. So are YOU our next Content Lead, QuestMedia? You are if you… Are a strong writer first, someone who can produce polished, nearly-publication-ready work at volume without needing heavy structural editing on every draft. Have genuine editorial instincts, a nose for a good argument, and a rigorous approach to accuracy. Have 5+ years in digital media, journalism, or content, preferably within financial services or business media. A background in Canadian personal finance, investing, or market coverage is a meaningful asset. Have demonstrated ability to produce original pieces with strong perspectives – not summaries of what others have reported, but writing that takes a clear position and backs it up with specific reporting and sourcing. Have experience working with freelance contributors, including developing pitches, providing developmental editing, and maintaining editorial standards across a body of work. An established roster of reliable contributors is a bonus. Have familiarity with Canadian personal finance, investing, and the broader market landscape — TFSAs, RRSPs, FHSAs, the TSX, the BoC. Enthusiasm to learn is welcome, but some existing knowledge is strongly preferred. Have  the ability to balance speed and accuracy under real deadline pressure, including same-day turnarounds on reactive content responding to market developments and breaking news. Have strong collaborative skills, with experience working alongside social, design, and subject-matter experts. Have a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.   Additional kudos if you… Have on-camera and on-mic skills.   Compensation Information: Base salary range: $95,000 - $120,000 The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.   Sounds like you? Click below to apply! #LI-LB1  #LI-Hybrid
