Equity Analyst

An established investment firm is seeking a meticulous and commercially minded Senior Equity Analyst to join their high-performing asset management team. This role is vital for assessing long-term company performance and financial sustainability to drive informed investment decisions. The successful candidate will transition beyond academic theory into practical, long-term financial modelling and audit pack preparation. This position is ideal for a qualified Chartered Accountant who is passionate about asset management and possesses the technical discipline to maintain complex financial models over extended periods. Key Responsibilities Perform deep-dive fundamental research and analysis on companies to evaluate long-term financial sustainability and performance. Develop, maintain, and update sophisticated financial models to track preferred investment performance over time. Identify and report on margin fluctuations to assist the team in determining optimal trade-in and trade-out timings. Contribute high-level insights and data-driven recommendations to the investment decision-making process. Prepare and manage comprehensive audit packs successfully and consistently over long periods. Utilise specialised tools to splice, dice, and dissect historical company data spanning 5 to 10 years of performance. Translate complex financial data into meaningful commercial narratives rather than purely academic findings. Requirements A minimum of 3 years of senior-level equity analysis experience, working independently without needing direct daily instruction. Proven capability to evaluate financial statements for real-world business sustainability. If lacking direct asset management experience, a CA with a demonstrated auditing background in this specific space and roughly 2 years of post-articles experience will be considered. Preferred Qualifications CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) qualification (Level 1, Level 2, or fully chartered) is highly advantageous.
