Marketing Assistant (4-Month Contract)

A fast-paced health and wellness brand based in Ottery is seeking a versatile Marketing Assistant for a 4-month temporary contract. This role is ideal for a self-starting professional who thrives in a multi-faceted environment where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will provide essential support across digital content creation, social media management, and practical marketing operations. This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently in a high-pressure setting without the rigid structure of a large corporate firm. The working hours are 40 hours per week. Please note that the office location has limited access to public transport, so reliable private transport is highly recommended. Key Responsibilities Create high-quality artwork for retail leaflets and promotional materials using Canva and established brand elements. Manage the end-to-end social media process, including creating engaging posts for TikTok and Instagram, scheduling content, and handling direct messages. Develop and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets from scratch using original formulas to track marketing data and metrics. Coordinate practical marketing tasks, including sourcing packaging and assembling PR boxes for influencers and media partners. Produce professional documents and correspondence using MS Word and Outlook to support daily commercial operations. Adapt quickly to various administrative and creative needs within a lean, busy team environment. Requirements A minimum of 2 years of experience Proven experience in a small-business setting where employees manage diverse, multi-faceted tasks. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically the ability to build original Excel spreadsheets with formulas. Practical, hands-on mindset with a willingness to assist with physical tasks like packing and distribution. High level of self-motivation and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Access to reliable private transport due to the location's limited public transport links. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience within the health, wellness, or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sectors. Demonstrated ability to manage high-pressure deadlines in a creative capacity.
