Results for America (RFA) helps government leaders find, fund, and implement solutions that work to accelerate upward economic mobility and improve lives.  We work with federal, state, and local government decision-makers to increase their use of evidence and data in budget, policy, and program decisions. 

Responsibilities

  • Research topics and background materials
  • Build and update attendee lists
  • Draft basic materials (emails, briefs, and other collateral)
  • Assist with developing meeting agendas
  • Help draft memos and background materials
  • Gather information to support 1:1 Technical Assistance (TA) work
  • Maintain and update tracking spreadsheets
  • Ensure information is accurate and up to date
  • Draft follow-up emails and correspondence for review
  • Help manage Excel spreadsheets used for tracking and Salesforce uploads
  • Provide research and administrative support across priority bills and offices
  • Assist with Workforce and State Policy prep for What Works Caucus meetings
  • Contribute to Congressional outreach and evidence-based policy research
  • Conduct and present one evidence-based, place-based policy research project

Requirements

RFA offers summer internships to individuals who are at least 18 years old and who have:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills;
  • Proficiency with GoogleSuite and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Alignment with Results for America’s mission and vision; and 
  • Demonstrated interest in federal policy, Congress, or evidence-based policymaking, with the ability to track legislation and summarize policy developments.
  • Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to draft policy content (e.g., memos, briefings, or newsletters), support development of technical assistance materials, and contribute to briefs or stakeholder communications.

Individuals with 1-4 years of postsecondary education or relevant work experience in government or nonprofit organizations will be paid $27/hour.  Individuals with 5 or more years of postsecondary education or relevant work experience in government or nonprofit organizations will be paid $32/hour.  Precise weekly work schedules/hours will be determined in coordination with the Intern’s supervisor.

Summer Interns are not eligible for RFA benefits.
