Aftercare Teacher - Saint Peter School, Capitol Hill

Duties of Aftercare teachers include, but are not limited to, the following:

• →Taking daily attendance
• →Planning and executing educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
• →Supervising students during reactional activities
• →Observing and understanding student behaviors
• →Monitoring students for allergic reactions
• →Reporting injuries or behavioral issues to director immediately
• →Ensuring constant communication with reception desk teacher so students can be dismissed promptly
• →Providing students with orderly and quiet environments to complete homework
• →Encouraging students to be respectful of the school and property by leaving classroom, hallways, and activity area neat and orderly

• Knowledge of teaching best practices partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-organized, creative, and energetic
• Strong moral values and discipline
• Knowledge of CPR, First Aid and use of the AED
