We are looking for a Bids Specialist (12 month FTC) to join our Business Development, Marketing & Communications (BDMC) team in Auckland.

This role plays an important part in supporting the firm’s strategy and day-to-day operations, working closely with partners, lawyers and colleagues across our Business Services team. You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing environment and valued as a trusted adviser and contributor to the firm’s success.

 

About the role

The Bids Specialist supports the team to execute business development, marketing and communications strategy. The role combines business writing, design, project management and time management skills to ensure the firm grows and maintains its strong market position.


In this role, you will:

  • Project manage and draft pitches, RFPs and capability statements, working closely with partners and BDMC colleagues.
  • Play an active role in evolving the bids function towards a more strategic, scalable and insight led model.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the firm’s RFP and bids process, including template design features, core content improvements and win rate performance.
  • Support the shift to more efficient, technology-enabled ways of working, including using AI to streamline and improve consistency.
  • Support CRM management and coordination, working closely with the wider BDMC team and other business services teams as required.
  • Assist and, at times lead, legal directory submissions, including to Chambers and Legal 500, managing drafting, stakeholder input and deadlines.
  • Support broader BD activity, including in relation to major strategic pursuits.


About you

  • At least 3 years' experience in B2B business development.
  • Experience working on bids in a law firm or professional services environment (strongly preferred).  
  • Excellent verbal, written and design communication skills including persuasive business writing skills.
  • Analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and a desire to work collaboratively.
  • An interest in AI and technology, and proficiency with CRM tools, MS Office, and the Adobe suite.
