Digitech leverages its proprietary technology to offer fully outsourced services that maximize collections, protect compliance, and deliver results for clients.   Summary:   The Patient Research Specialist plays a critical role in Digitech’s revenue cycle by ensuring that all patient and insurance information is accurate, complete, and ready for claim coding and billing. This position is responsible for reviewing EMS patient care reports (PCRs), researching insurance coverage, validating demographic details, and identifying missing or inaccurate data before claims move forward in the billing workflow.   This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, problem‑solving, working in a fast‑paced environment, and managing multiple tasks with precision. The Patient Research Specialist helps ensure clean claims and supports timely and accurate reimbursement for our EMS clients.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   Receive, review, and process EMS patient care reports (PCRs) for assigned clients, ensuring all cases are handled promptly and accurately Research, gather, and verify insurance information, using internal systems, online tools, and external payer resources to confirm active coverage for the date of service Validate demographic data, including patient name, date of birth, mailing address, and other required identifiers—performing additional research when information is incomplete or missing Confirm insurance eligibility and correct payer sequencing to support proper billing and claim adjudication Identify discrepancies or missing data and take proactive steps to resolve them before claims are submitted for coding Document all findings, updates, and corrections within the appropriate systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards Collaborate with internal teams, including Coding, QA, Client Services, and other billing departments, to resolve questions and ensure smooth workflow transitions Maintain productivity targets and turnaround times, meeting daily and weekly expectations for assigned client volumes Support special assignments or tasks as directed by the Department Manager, including overflow work, data cleanup, and quality improvement initiatives Additional job duties as assigned   Skills/Experience Required:   Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Strong ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities with accuracy Ability to work independently and remain focused in a remote, deadline‑driven environment Collaborative team player with the ability to communicate professionally with internal departments and external partners Pleasant, professional, and customer‑focused demeanor Ability to maintain composure and deliver quality work under pressure Strong computer literacy, including comfort working with dual monitors and navigating multiple systems simultaneously Excellent follow‑through, attention to detail, and accuracy in data review Strong written communication skills, including grammar and documentation clarity Ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality work Reliable, punctual, and dependable with strong work accountability Quick learner who takes clear, organized notes during training Comfortable asking questions and seeking clarification when needed Ability to independently manage all aspects of the job role including required goals and business practices in a remote environment Sarnova is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
