About your opportunity  

As the Statutory Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee delivery of third party and statutory maintenance on Seqwater’s built assets in accordance with relevant statutory regulations and standards at all operational sites. You will lead a team who conduct regular inspections to ensure asset compliance, maintain accurate documentation, and oversee and monitor contractor management including contracts. 

This role is responsible for: 

  • Lead a team responsible for delivering statutory maintenance compliance across built assets, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. 

  • Manage inspection and audit programs, contractor performance, and statutory maintenance contracts. 

  • Collaborate with maintenance planning and asset management teams to meet compliance obligations and support asset lifecycle decisions. 

  • Develop and improve maintenance procedures, contract performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Supervise contractors and ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with WHS, quality, and environmental requirements. 

  • Respond to unplanned maintenance and emergency incidents, including participation in an on-call roster. 

  • Foster collaboration, drive operational excellence, and uphold organisational values, policies, and procedures. 

 

Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically deemed ineligible. Each application will be considered on its merits. 

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

  • Associate Diploma in Engineering, or appropriate trade qualification. 

  • Sound experience in a leadership or supervisory role. 

  • Possess a current "C" class Queensland Drivers Licence 

  • Strong demonstrated experience in Contractor management. 

  • High level knowledge and understanding of the scope, function and nature of the statutory requirements of all assets used in water treatment and bulk water storage. Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety, environmental and EEO legislation (desirable). 

  • Strong demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, with particular emphasis on consultation, advocacy, negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution and assertiveness.  

  • Experience in Managing Contracts and Contractors in performing Regulatory and Legislative tasks (desirable)
